HPSL was the first unit in India to commercially manufacture Ferro alloys in small electric arc furnaces. Till the year 1987 the production of Ferro Alloys was the monopoly of big industrial houses like FACOR, Sandur Manganese, Khandelwal Ferro, Universal Ferro etc.

Our group was the first in India to break this monopoly and develop in-house technology by own Research and Development to produce Ferro Alloys in a small 5 MVA furnace. This was a landmark achievement and our group never looked back thereafter.

In 1987, the promoters took over an existing unit manufacturing Calcium Carbide. The furnace was redesigned and renovated and production of Ferro Silicon was taken up. This was the first instance of Ferro Alloys being manufactured in small sized furnaces. The HIRA Group became pioneers in this field and JCCL was a success story from Day One. The capacity of the unit was increased to meet the increasing demand.

Currently the company is adding on a Captive Power Plant of 20 MW capacity to be self reliant on power.
