ABOUT US PRODUCTS GROUP COMPANIES MEDIA SPEAKS PROMOTERS

After the success of JCCL, the promoters expanded the capacity of ferro alloys production by setting up another unit in the name of Hira Ferro alloys Ltd in 1991. The capacity of the plant was 8000 MT.

In 1993, the capacity was further expanded by another 10000 MT by setting up Unit II of HFAL.

The capacity was further increased in 2003 by commissioning of another furnace in Unit II.

Thus in the nineties, while the large scale Ferro alloys units were suffering huge losses, HFAL was making substantial profits. This was primarily due to lower fixed cost like interest and depreciation resulting from Low Project Cost. The latter was achieved by developing main Equipment by in-house R&D thus bringing down Cost of Project substantially. Lower Cost of project compounded by lower power consumption and optimised raw material mix has enabled us to produce the final products competitive and comparable with the products of the larger units. This is again due to benefits derived out of our continuous R&D in the field.

HFAL is currently setting up Captive Power Plant of 20 MW capacity.
